Kentucky Derby Prices Dropping

The most exciting two minutes in sports is only four days away and ticket prices are now at their lowest point. The 139th running of the Kentucky Derby will take place this Saturday at the historic Churchill Downs in Louisville. This year’s race figures to be relatively wide open with Verrazano and Orb currently leading the field. After an eventful month of April, University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino hopes to expand his legend this weekend at the derby. With a stake in long shot Goldcents, Pitino can add a Kentucky Derby win to his 2013 NCAA Championship and 2013 Hall-of-Fame selection. The average price for tickets is currently $758, down $139 or 15% since Friday. Over the past 2 weeks, the price drop has been much more dramatic. Since April 15, the average price has dropped 26% or $267. Infield general admission seats are now starting at just $46 with reserved grandstand seating starting at $218.

Taylor Swift Tickets – RED Tour

Taylor Swift Ticket Prices for Red Tour Remain Relatively Unchanged

Taylor Swift’s much anticipated Red Tour has started. Just prior to her first show, we took a look at ticket prices on the secondary market and found that the average Taylor Swift concert ticket is up $3 since we last reported one month earlier, now $202 a seat. Twenty-five of the sixty-six shows went down in price; Swift’s Columbus show (5/8) at Nationwide Arena saw the greatest decrease, falling from $251 to $210. The largest price increase in Taylor Swift tickets was seen for the singer’s shows at the Toyota Center (5/16), Prudential Center (3/28), and Rexall Place (6/26) where prices increased by $118, $85, and $78 respectively. Following their week off from touring, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift will be back in action at the American Airlines Arena (4/10) for one of their most expensive shows of the year.
