“2013 talent could be the strongest lineup in the rodeo’s history.”
Chris Gray of the Houston Press recently did a blog post on the entertainment lineup set to perform at Rodeo Houston. ‘Rodeo Touches Every Corner of Pop Universe, Almost Misses Texas’ speaks to the diverse lineup that includes Mary J. Blige, Pitbull and X Factor judge Demi Lovato as well as numerous Country Music artists.

Although Rodeo Houston has a rich history in the world of livestock exhibitions, many flock to Reliant Stadium to see their favorite artists take center stage. The event drew over 2 million people in 2011 and folks have come to expect great musical performances from all genres. Performances kick off February 25 with Toby Keith and finish in front of a sold out crowd March 17 with George Strait. Tickets under $35 are currently available for all artists except George Strait.
Eleven of the twenty-one artists performing at the Rodeo are either currently on tour or will be touring in 2013. Seeing an artist at Rodeo Houston is usually much cheaper than seeing them headline a concert; in some cases, Rodeo Houston tickets are half the cost of a concert ticket. However, this year tickets to see Brantley Gilbert, Blake Shelton and George Strait are more expensive at Rodeo Houston than their own concert tours. As for the remaining artists not on tour this year, it’s probably the only chance their fans will get a chance to see them live.
|Rodeo Houston Artist||Avg. Price of Rodeo||Avg. Price of Concert|

|Mary J. Blige||$63.78|
|The Band Perry||$76.77|
|Julion Alvarez y Los Invasores de Nuevo Leon||$60.43|
